I have known Cassie Juba for 14 years, and in that time, I have seen firsthand the profound impact she has on students. Cassie was my sons tutor and nanny for many years. When my son was struggling with reading, he felt frustrated, discouraged, and hesitant to accept help. Then Cassie showed up; not just with knowledge and skill, but with heart, creativity, and an unwavering belief in his potential.
On the very first day of tutoring, Cassie arrived dressed as a panda, complete with a matching outfit and face paint for Sam. Instead of making learning feel like another task, she made it an adventure. That was the moment everything changed for him. Cassie met him where he was, found what sparked his curiosity, and turned learning into something exciting rather than intimidating.
Thanks to Cassies patience, encouragement, and innovative approach, Sam grew into a confident reader and student. Today, he is a successful college junior studying to become a pilot, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I am 100% sure that he would not be the confident, brave student he is today if Cassie hadnt laid such a strong foundation and instilled a love of learning in his heart. My family and I will be forever grateful. He was even a part of Cassies wedding, serving as the ring bearer and reading a passage from The Princess Bride, a testament to the lifelong bond she builds with the students she mentors.
Cassies ability to empower students, engage with families, and bring creative solutions to education is exactly what our schools need. She understands what it takes to support students and teachers because she has dedicated her career to doing just that. Her passion for youth and learning is why I wholeheartedly support Cassie Juba for Brookings School Board.
