MADISON Beginning March 17, a lane closure was placed on U.S. Highway 81 in Lake County near Madison. The U.S. 81 lane closure is located 500 feet south of 225th Street. The closure is anticipated to be in effect for four weeks.
Stop signs will be installed on each end of the closed segment, motorists should be prepared for delays. Drivers are asked to be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes. Please lower speeds through the work zone. This lane closure is part of a reconstruction project on U.S. 81 from north of Ninth Street Northwest in Madison to the Lake/Kingsbury/Brookings County line.
The prime contractor for this $12.1 million project is Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg, Minnesota. The overall project completion date is Oct. 17.
