Three seeking seats on Brookings School Board

BROOKINGS Three candidates have formally filed to run for two open three-year seats on the Brookings School Board.

School district director of business services Stacey VanBeek said incumbent Teri Johnson and newcomers Kelsey Bowman and Cassie Juba all filed sufficient petitions to be placed on the ballot. Board president Teresa Binkley whose term expires this year did not file for reelection.

Petitions needed to be postmarked by Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.

A combined city and school board election will take place April 8.
