The December recipient of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Third Sunday Breakfast was Brookings High School PTA.
Members and friends of the PTA helped serve and mingle with the community citizens. They displayed a table explaining their purpose and their future goals. Their efforts earned them a check for $1125.
The January recipient of the Third Sunday Breakfast was Troop 1 of the Boy Scouts of America. The troop earned $775 for its efforts.
The VFW Auxiliary prepares the breakfast of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee and the profits are donated to the selected organization for that month. The breakfast is served August through March from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If your organization would be interested in being considered as a recipient for one of the months the breakfast is held, send a letter with you organizations mission statement, purpose of the fundraiser, contact people and contact information.
