PIERRE Specialty farmers and producers are encouraged to spend a day developing their business at a free workshop on March 8 in Pierre with presenters from the Value Added Agriculture Development Center and South Dakota Specialty Producers Association.
The business development seminar will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CST, and will include time discussing elements of a sustainable business plan for a specialty crop business, including work time specific for your operation.
The day will include time for networking, discussion, and partnership building. Learn about the available resources to form partnerships for increased success of your business, including marketing, packaging and distribution.
Attendees will receive educational materials, including a workbook and are encouraged to bring a laptop and notebook.
Reserve a spot for this free workshop here. The event will be at the Associated School Boards of South Dakota building at 306 E Capitol Ave. in Pierre. Lunch is not provided; however, the agenda includes one hour for a lunch break.
This business planning workshop is funded by a Specialty Crop Block Grant received by the South Dakota Specialty Producers Association, which aims to increase educational opportunities for specialty and niche producers.
