LAKE PRESTON Oldham-Ramona Rutland came away with a 61-57 win over Iroquois/Lake Preston in the first round of the Region 2B Girls Basketball Playoffs on Monday night.
The No. 9 seeded Raiders trailed 17-14 at the end of the first quarter but then outscored the Sharks 18-11 in the second and took a 32-28 lead into halftime. No. 8 seeded ILP came back and tied the game at 39-39 hedging into the fourth. The Raiders were then able to outscore the Sharks 22-18 in the final frame.
Brooklyn Riedel had 22 points to lead the Raiders. Bailey Hyland had 21 points and Emily Matson had 17 points.
The Sharks were led by Kara Dubro who had 21 points, 13 rebounds and three steals. Hadlee Holt had 20 points and 16 rebounds.
ORR (5-14) will play top-seeded Deubrook Area in White on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ILP finished the season with a record of 6-15.
Meanwhile, No. 7 seeded Estelline/Hendricks beat No. 10 seeded James Valley Christian in the other Region 2B game on Monday night. There were no stats available for the game. The Redhawks will play No. 2 seeded De Smet in De Smet on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
