What to do with our felon president?

For the first time in history of our “United States of America,” we have elected a convicted felon to be our president.

For the first time in our history, we have elected a person with enough disdain for our democracy to deny the outcome of a fair and true presidential election, and continues to lie about the outcome, and persuades many others to spread his lies.

The person we have elected, Donald Trump, has shown us what it is like to be un-American by being involved in the insurrection at our capitol four years ago, causing much damage to the structure and causing death and injuries to several people.

Donald Trump, in his picks for cabinet positions, has selected people, not for their knowledge and experience, but for their deep pockets and their allegiance to Mr. Trump’s causes. It’s sad that so many Republicans, including elected Republicans, will forfeit their own patriotism and allegiance to our country to protect the lies of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump makes a mockery of our judicial system by praising the courts that side with him, and chastising those that find him guilty by using nasty rhetoric and, of course, denying that he is guilty of his crimes. We will have to hope that many people of influence will stand for decency, honesty, and democracy, knowing that we cannot expect those same qualities from Donald Trump.
