The Brookings Rangers junior varsity boys team extended their win streak to eight games with a pair of wins over the weekend.
Brookings 9, Yankton 0
Jason Ready led the offensive assault with four goals and two assists. Connor Buckley added a pair of goals and an assist and Mauer Bartley had a goal and an assist. Parker Nielsen had a goal and three assists and Andrew Hahn also scored for Brookings. Mavrick Bortnem had an assist.
Paxtyn Pottorff went the distance in net, turning away ten shots to earn the shutout.
Brookings 5, Sioux Falls East 3
Hahn, Nielsen, Carson Kludt, Mason Diers and Ready all scored as the Rangers topped the Flyers. Diers added a pair of apples, with Nielsen and Kludt credited with one each.
Ryder Anderson got the win in net as the Rangers were outshot 26-23.
Bantam A
Brookings 11, Watertown 0
The Bantam A Rangers kept their season rolling with a road shutout of Watertown that saw nine different Brookings sticks score a goal.
Jack Lovseth and Thor Zell led the way with two each, while Ethan Foerster, Un-Hyeng Keay, Atwood Ahmann, Cannon Friedrich, Colt VanMaanen, Weston Diers and Graham Gerlach also found the back of the net.
Foerster was the days playmaker with four assists, and Tegan Jensen, Lovseth, Diers, Zell and Keay all had one.
Jon Drew made four saves to earn the shutout.
Brookings 8, Aberdeen 0
Diers had a hat trick, Ahmann scored twice and Friedrich, Zell and Lovseth all also scored in a rout over the Cougars.
Vanmaanen had five assists on the day, while Foerster added a playmaker and Carter Nielsen had a pair. Friedrich, Gerlach and Lovseth all had an assist.
Drew made 7 stops in the shutout win while the Rangers put 26 pucks on net.
Bantam B
Aberdeen 2, Brookings 0
The Rangers fell to 4-4 in league play with the loss. They outshot Aberdeen 44-8, but could get nothing past Cougars goalie Levi Edwards. Warner Carroll manned the net for Brookings.
Girls 14U
The Rangers girls squad picked up a win and two ties over the weekend.
Brookings 5, Aberdeen 0
Brooke Kruse scored a pair of goals and Kahlei Foerster, Grave Devries and Khloe Ziegeldorf also found twine. Devries, Lorelei Koch, Ziegeldorf, Audrey Andal, Ashton Otteson and Allie Jaobson all had assists in the win.
Avery Dentlinger and Ava Vaughn split the game between the pipes, with the shutout credited to Dentlinger.
Brookings 1, Yankton 1
The Rangers could only muster a tie despite outshooting the Miracle 47-5.
Foerster put Brookings ahead deep in the first period, but Yankton tied it at the end of the second, and neither team could find the net in overtime.
Brookings 2, Watertown 2
Foerster and Devries scored for Brookings, with assists credited to Jordyn Anderson amd Katie Vandersnick.
Dentlinger and Audrey Andal split the game in net and the Rangers outshot the Lakers 32-18.
Pee Wee A
Brookings 9, Aberdeen 1
The Rangers moved to 5-2 in league play with a rout of Aberdeen.
The Cougars struck first, but the Rangers then rattled off nine straight goals to cruise to the victory.
Oliver Ahmann, Luke Luvaas and Owen Rounds each scored a pair for Brookings while Coy Friedrich, Juke Anderson and Gavin Zweibahmer all added goals.
Rounds had four assists and Myles Anderson chipped in a pair. Max Harris, Juke Anderson, Ahmann, Ryker Schumaker and Jacob Myhre all had one helper.
Brayden Brintnall made 12 saves to earn the win in net.
Pee Wee C
Brookings 5, Aberdeen 1
The Rangers moved to 5-1 in league play with a home win over Aberdeen.
Cooper Hyde had a hand in each Rangers goal, scoring a hat trick and adding two assists.
Adrian Almhjeld scored twice for Brookings and Daniel Howey had an apple.
Nash Billings was strong in the net for the Rangers, turning away 23 of 24 Cougars shots in the win.
