Brookings native Michaela Jewett won the NSIC Womens Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
The graduate senior averaged 26.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists on the week. She was 20-of-34 (59%) from the field and 6-of-14 from three. Jewett was perfect from the free-throw line, going 7-for-7.
Jewett, who plays for the Northern State University Wolves, scored 28 points in a 93-82 victory over No. 6 Minnesota State. She also contributed 25 points and 12 rebounds in an 85-73 win over Winona State.
Jewett recorded her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season in the back-to-back wins.
On Dec. 16, Jewett scored her 1,000th career point. She spent the last five seasons at Augustana before transferring to NSU. Jewett is averaging 13 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Wolves this season.
