RAPID CITY The Brookings basketball teams each played a pair of games in Rapid City over the weekend.
The Bobcat girls came back to Brookings with wins over Rapid City Central and Rapid City Stevens and the Bobcat boys fell to the Cobblers and the Raiders.
The Brookings girls are now 6-4 on the season and play at Harrisburg on Thursday at 7 p.m. The boys fell to 0-10 and host Harrisburg on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Girls
Brookings 51, Rapid City Central 26
The Bobcats snapped a four-game losing streak with the win over the Cobblers on Friday night.
Brookings outscored RCC 14-7 in the first quarter. The Cats then extended their lead to 28-12 by halftime. The Bobcats then outscored the Cobblers 21-6 in the third quarter to seal the victory.
Brookings shot 40.9% from the field and was 4-of-8 from three. Kymber Buys led the Bobcats with 12 points. Maccy Even had eight points and Logan Smidt had seven points. Clara Delbridge and Sloan McLagan each had six points.
RCC Shot 22% from the field and was 1-of-10 from three. The Cobblers were led by Leah Landry who had 13 points.
Brookings had a big advantage in rebounds as the Bobcats outrebounded the Cobblers 31-10. Each team had 11 turnovers. Brookings was 6-of-10 at the free throw line and RCC was 9-of-14.
Boys
Rapid City Central 69, Brookings 47
It was a tough second half for the Bobcats as the Cobblers pulled away to get the win.
It was 15-15 at the end of the first quarter and then 28-28 at halftime. RCC then outscred Brookings 16-9 in the third quarter and 25-10 in the final quarter.
Brookings shot 38.8% from the field and was 5-of-17 from three. The Cats were led by Brodie McCarty who had 17 points. Bergan Tetzlaff had 16 points and eight rebounds.
RCC shot 41.4% from the field and was 5-of-15 from three. Gilbert White led the Cobblers with 21 points. Preston Yellow had 14 points and Junor Allen had 11 points.
The Bobcats had a 40-28 advantage in rebounds. Brookings had 19 turnovers and Rapid City Central had nine. The Bobcats were 4-of-8 at the free throw line and the Cobblers were 15-of-18.
Saturday
Boys
Rapid City Stevens 61, Brookings 46
On Saturday it was the first half that hurt the Bobcats. They trailed 18-8 at the end of the first quarter and then 41-20 at halftime. Brookings outscored RCS 12-10 in the third quarter and then 14-10 in the fourth but it was too little too late.
Brookings shot 36% from the field and was 0-of-12 from three. Tetzlaff and Winston Plummer each had 12 points to lead the Cats. Tetzlaff also had 10 rebounds. McCarty had 11 points.
Rapid City Stevens shot 48.9% from the field and was 7-of-15 from three. The Raiders were led by Dayler Segrist who had 28 points. Dylan Szymoski had 11 points.
RCS won the rebound battle 30-27. The Bobcats had 10 turnovers and the Raiders had eight. Brookings was 8-of-12 at the free throw line and RCS was 10-of-16.
Girls
Brookings 55, Rapid City Stevens 53
The Bobcats hung on for the victory on Saturday. McLagan made two free throws to put Brookings up 55-51 with 15.7 seconds left. RCS then hit two free throws to cut the lead to two with 8.5 seconds left. The Raiders then stole the inbounds pass but then had a player step out of bounds before she got a shot off and the Bobcats ran out the clock after getting the ball in.
Brookings led 87 at the end of the first quarter. The Bobcats then took a 20-19 lead into the locker room. The Cats then led 35-33 heading into the fourth and each team scored 20 points in the final quarter.
