The Brookings Rangers junior varsity boys team had another strong showing over the weekend as they went 2-0 once again.
The Rangers are now 8-1 and have won six-straight games.

Brookings 6, Sioux Falls Flyers East 0
Against Sioux Falls, Mauer Bartley led the way with a hat trick and Andrew Hahn, Parker Nielsen and Cooper Schneider also scored.
Mason Diers had a playmaker for Brookings, and Schneider added a pair of assists.Camden Reicks and Nielsen were also credited with helpers.
Ryder Anderson recorded the shutout between the pipes and Brookings outshot the Flyers 28-14.
Brookings 8, Oahe 4
The Rangers then moved to 8-1 on the season at home on Saturday with a win over the Capitals.
Carson Kludt had a hat trick for Brookings, and Nielsen added a pair. Diers and Jason Ready also lit the lamp.
Nielsen had a playmaker plus one for the Rangers and Ready added a pair of assists as did Hahn. Kludt and Diers chipped in helpers for Brookings.
Paxtyn Pottorff got the win in net in the back and forth game. Brookings outshot the Capitals 43-28.
Bantam A
The Rangers continued their strong season by winning their pool at the Woodchipper Classic in Fargo before dropping a pair of games against strong competition on Sunday.
Brookings 2, St. Paul 2
The Rangers battled back from a 2-0 deficit to earn the tie in their tourney opener.
Jack Lovseth got Brookings on the board deep in the second period off a feed from Thor Zell. Ethan Foerster got Brookings level in the third with assists going to Lovseth and Zell. Jon Drew was in net as the teams each recorded 17 shots in the tie.
Brookings 5, Northern Lakes 1
Lovseth had a goal and two assists and Foerster had a two goals and an assist. Zell had a goal and two assists and Colin Jacobson also scored and had an assist.
Drew was steady earning the win, turning away 17 of 18 shots between the pipes.
Brookings 4, Monticello 0
Drew stopped all 19 shots to lead the Rangers past the Moose.
Weston Diers, Graham Gerlach and Zell all scored for Brookings, with Carter Nielsen chipping in an empty netter and an assist. Lovseth also had a helper.
Woodbury 7, Brookings 2
The Rangers fell to the eventual tourney champs in the semifinal. Kallen Serfling and Diers scored the goals for Brookings, with Un-Hyeng Keay, Tegan Jensen and Nielsen credited with assists.
Drew made 24 saves as Woodbury outshot Brookings 31-20.
Andover 3, Brookings 1
The Rangers dropped a tight third-place game on Sunday.
Zell had the lone Rangers goal with an assist credited to Lovseth.
Drew made 13 saves in the net.
Bantam B
Brookings 16, Oahe 0
The Rangers offense exploded for 16 goals in a home drubbing of the Capitals on Saturday afternoon.
Ty Harris had 6 goals and an assist. Jasper Pitts scored five times for Brookings. Jackson Hahn had a hat trick and an assist, and Maxx Anderson scored and had a playmaker. Blaine Zweber had a goal and an assist. Kaeden Kalber, Landon Schumaker and Maxximillion Vanderbush each had assists.
Warner Carroll earned a shutout while Brookings outshot the Capitals 53-4.
Pee Wee A
Brookings 7, Watertown 4
The Rangers clamped down after a back and forth first period, outscoring the Lakers 4-0 in the second period en route to the win at Larson Ice Center on Sunday.
Owen Rounds led the Rangers with a pair of goals. Ryker Schumacher, Myles Anderson, Jacob Myhre, Oliver Ahmann and Max Harris also found the net for Brookings.
Ahmann, Luke Luvaas, Coy Friedrich and Theo Treml all had assists.
Brayden Brintnall got the win in net while Brookings outshot Watertown 46-11.
Pee Wee C
Brookings 12, Watertown 0
The Rangers returned to league action with a thumping of Watertown as every player dressed got on the scoresheet.
Cooper Hyde scored five goals for Brookings, while Liam Diercks had five assists and a goal and Brodie Bahe chipped in two goals.
Daniel Howey, Knox Frericks, Adrian Almhjeld and Spencer Lovseth also scored for Brookings.
Almhjeld, Frericks, Joey Francisco, Otto Hasselhorst and Emmett Berkenhoff also recorded assists.
Porter Vanderbush went the distance in net to earn the shutout as the Rangers outshot the Lakers 52-4.
