BRANDON The Brookings wrestling teams fell to Brandon Valley in a dual doubleheader on Tuesday night.
The boys lost 58-24 and the girls took a 42-18 defeat.
The boys will travel to Arlington on Saturday for a tournament that will begin at 10 a.m. The girls will wrestle next on Jan. 30 in Brookings against Sioux Falls Jefferson.
Girls
Brandon Valley 42, Brookings 18
The Bobcat girls won three of the four matches that didnt include forfeits. Brandon Valleys Kendall Crayton pinned Bailey TeKrony in 5:48 in the 107-pound weight class.
The Cats won the next three matches. Lily Toft picked up the first win for Brookings as she pinned Leah Nelson in 1:30 at 114. Ramsie Hinricher pinned Kailee Schnider in 50 seconds at 120 and Kami Erickson pinned Brynn Engelking in 50 seconds at 126.
Gracie Peters, Grace Carson, Brenna Reker, Allison Munger, Larian Mora-Robles-Valle-Macias and Lillian Hamner each won via forfeit for the Lynx.
Boys
Brandon Valley 58, Brookings 24
The Bobcats won four of the 10 matches that were actually played. The dual was kicked off in the 106-pound weight class and Brandon Valleys Isaac Weerhein pinned Bode TeKrony in 35 seconds. Briggs Archer then took the match for the Bobcats in the 113-pound weight class and he pinned Braylon Bach in 51 seconds. Micah Stern then picked up a win for the Cats in the 120-pound weight class as he pinned Harvey Cheuer in 41 seconds.
The Lynx would win the next six matches. Brendon Oehem pinned Haiden Baxter in 2:50 at 126 and Hayden McGuire won a 21-5 technical fall over Jacob Milliron at 132. Aaron Tucker pinned Jack Griggs in 56 seconds at 138.
Branden Shoemaker, Jack Nelson and Judah Larson all won via forfeit for the Lynx. Levi Veskrna then won a 17-2 technical fall over James Fitzpatrick at 165 for Brandon Valley.
Brookings would win the next two matches. Gabriel Stern pinned Ethan Tucker in 2:51 at 175 and Blake Kannegieter pinned Cody Lindekugel in 5:13 at 190.
Brandon Valleys Elijah Schunke pinned Zach Hegemann in 48 seconds at 215 and Ethan Schleicher won via forfeit for the Lynx at heavyweight.
