Bobcats finish second in Yankton Triangular

YANKTON The Brookings gymnastics team came in second in a triangular with Yankton and Harrisburg on Tuesday night.

The Bobcats had a team score of 151.500. Harrisburg won the triangular with a score of 151.500. Yankton had a score of 134.750.

Brooklyn Ballis came in second in the all around for the Bobcats with a score of 34.450. Ballis came in fifth in the uneven bars with a score of 8.6000 and tied for 10th in the balance beam (8.9500). She came in 14th in the floor exercise (8.6000) and 15th in the vault (8.3000).

Kennedy Ronning finished in third in the all around (34.400). She finished in 10th in the uneven bars (7.9500) and 15th in the balance beam (8.5000). Ronning came in eighth in the floor exercise (9.5000) and tied for ninth in the vault (8.4500).

Lexi Norgaard came in eighth in the all around (31.750). She came in 13th in the uneven bars (7.6000) and 19th in the balance beam (7.3500). Norgaard tied for 11th in the floor exercise (9.0500) and 20th in the vault (7.7500).

Nevaeh Strohfus came in ninth in the all around (31.700). She came in 18th in the uneven bars (6.7000) and tied for 13th in the balance beam (8.5500). Strohfus finished 17th in the floor exercise (8.2500) and 16th in the vault (8.2000).

Layla Erickson came in sixth in the uneven bars (8.5000) and fourth in the balance beam (9.5000). Ava Petterson came in 11th in the uneven bars (7.9000) and 12th in the balance beam (8.6500). Liv Halverson came in 15th in the floor exercise (8.5000) and 17th in the vault (8.15000). Harper Overby tied for 18th in the vault (8.0000).

Brookings will compete in the Huron Invitational on Friday night. That competition is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
