The Brookings Bantam A team stayed in first place in the state, winning two of three games over a busy weekend.
Brookings 4, Watertown 1
Jack Lovseth led the Rangers with a hat trick during a Friday night defeat of the Lakers.
Carter Nielsen also scored for Brookings. Atwood Ahmann and Colt VanMaanen each had two assists, and Ethan Foerster, Cannon Friedrich and Weston Diers each were credited with one.
Jon Drew stopped nine of ten shots to get the win in net for the Rangers, who took 27 shots on goal.
Brookings 3, Rushmore 0
The Rangers won a battle of unbeatens in SDAHA play with a strong effort Saturday night.
Foerster scored a pair of goals for Brookings and Kallen Serfling had one. Un-Hyeng Keay and Lovseth had the assists.
Drew was flawless in net, making 20 saves in the shutout win.
Rushmore 1, Brookings 0
The Thunder evened the score on Sunday afternoon at Larson Ice Center.
Rushmore was credited with the only goal of the game in the first period. The teams skated a tight-checking game the rest of the way scoreless.
Drew made eight saves, as each team registered nine shots on goal.
Bantam B
Sioux Center 4, Brookings 2
The Rangers dropped a home game to the league-leading Storm.
Jasper Pitts had a goal and an assist for Brookings, and Maxx Anderson assisted on both goals. Ty Harris also had a goal and an assist.
Isaac Haufschild made 10 saves in net. Brookings outshot visiting Sioux Center 39-14 in the loss.
Girls 14U
The Brookings 14U girls split a pair over the weekend, downing Huron before falling to Sioux Falls.
Brookings 4, Huron 0
Khloe Ziegeldorf score a pair of goals for Brookings, and Ashton Otteson and Nola Hogiealso scored for the Rangers. Grace Devries, Brooke Kruse, Brooklyn Nelson and Allie Jacobson all had assists.
Avery Dentlinger earned the shutout in the cage as the Rangers outshot the All Stars 40-13.
Sioux Falls 6, Brookings 0
The Rangers fell to 5-2 in league play with a loss to the Flyers, who moved to 8-0 on the year.
Dentlinger made 28 saves in net.
Pee Wee A
Brookings 6, Brandon Valley 0
The Rangers played a rematch with the Ice Cats and skated to an identical score.
Oliver Ahmann had a hat trick for Brookings and Myles Anderson chipped in a pair of goals. Branch Otteson was the other scorer for the Rangers.
Anderson, Max Harris and Luke Luvaas each had an assist.
Brayden Brintnall made all 12 stops between the pipes to earn the shutout win. Brookings outshot Brandon Valley 38-12.
