COLMAN The Flandreau and Colman-Egan girls basketball teams lost in the Entringer Classic on Saturday in Colman. The Fliers fell to Dell Rapids St. Mary and Colman-Egan was beat by Hamlin.
Dell Rapids St. Mary 49, Flandreau 35
The Fliers struggled in both the first and the third quarter on Saturday and that led to the loss.
Flandreau was outscored 20-5 in the first quarter. The Fliers bounced back in the second quarter and cut the lead to 30-22 heading into halftime. DRSM then outscored Flandreau 12-5 in the third quarter and led 42-27 heading into the fourth. The Fliers outscored the Cardinals 8-7 in the final frame.
Morgan Sheppard led the Fliers with 18 points and five rebounds. Rhegan Sheppard had seven points and Sadie Iott had six points. Madison Bushkofsky had four points.
The Fliers are now 2-2 and host Dell Rapids St. Mary on Jan. 2 at 6:15 p.m.
Hamlin 59, Colman-Egan 43
It was a tough first half for the Hawks on Saturday. They were outscored 19-11 in the first quarter and then trailed 37-14 heading into halftime. CE would outscore Hamlin 29-22 in the second half.
Brynlee Landis led the Hawks with 13 points. Kaylee Voelker had eight points and Addison Geigle finished with five points.
The Hawks are now 4-1 and will play Faulkton Area in the Huron Classic on Dec. 28 at 4:30 p.m.
