Brookings gymnastics finishes in fifth place in Mitchell

MITCHELL The Brookings gymnastics team finished in fifth place at the Jill McCormick Gymnastics Invite on Saturday.

The Bobcats finished with 133.475 points as a team.

Layla Erickson finished in sixth in the all-around with a score of 35.1000. She came in 10th place in the vault with a score of 9.000 and sixth place in the balance beam with a score of 9.375. Erickson came in 12th in the floor exercise with a score 9.225 and 37th in the uneven bars with a score of 7.500.

Neveah Strohfus came in 18th in the all around. Strohfus came in 19th in the balance beam with a score of 8.750. She came in 37th in the vault with a score of 8.375 and 32nd in the uneven bars with a score of 7.625. Strohfus came in 31st in the floor exercise with a score of 8.575.

Ava Petersen came in 32nd in the all around with a score of 32.0750. Petersen came in 45th in the vault with a score of 8.325 and 55th in the uneven bars with a score of 7.000. She came in 50th in the balance beam with a score of 7.925 and finished in 24th in the floor with a score of 8.825,

Brooklyn Ballis came in 54th in the all around with a score of 23.8000. Ballis came in 44th in the uneven bars with a score of 7.375. She finished 49th in the balance beam with a score of 7.950 and 35th in the floor with a score of 8.475.

Brookings will participate in a dual at Deuel on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.
