Brookings native Jordan Jensen crowned Miss Rodeo South Dakota

BROOKINGS Jordan Jensen, a 23-year-old native of Brookings, was crowned Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2025 during the Brookings PRCA Rodeo on Oct. 31Nov. 2 at the Brookings Inn.

Jensen makes history as the first Miss Rodeo South Dakota to be both born and raised in Brookings, and the first to have lived in Watertown.

As Miss Rodeo South Dakota, Jordan will represent the states rich rodeo tradition and western heritage. She will serve as an ambassador for the sport, promoting rodeo and the rural lifestyle across South Dakota and beyond.

The daughter of Chris and Stephanie (Bohlen) Westerman, Jordan graduated from Brookings High School in 2020. She holds an associates degree in law enforcement from Lake Area Technical College and is a certified law enforcement officer in South Dakota. Before receiving the crown, Jensen worked as a correctional officer at the Codington County Detention Center in Watertown, where she also trained new officers, showcasing leadership in both her professional and personal life.

A proud first-generation cowgirl, Jensen began competing in barrel racing at the age of 12. Her love for rodeo led her to become a rodeo queen, earning titles like Junior Miss Estelline Rodeo, Miss Days of 76, Miss Rodeo Aberdeen, and Miss Range Days Rodeo.

Jensen will officially begin her reign as Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2025 with her coronation event on Jan. 4 in Brookings. The event will feature a silent auction, live auction, and community celebration. She will also represent South Dakota at the Miss Rodeo America competition in Las Vegas in December 2025.
