One-vehicle crash takes life of Milbank man

MILBANK A man from Milbank who received fatal injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Dec. 10 near Milbank has been identified by authorities.

Preliminary crash information indicates Ronald Lee Vernlund, the driver of a2000 Ford F250,was traveling east on 149thStreet near 481st Avenue when the vehicle slid across the slick roadway and into the north ditch and rolled into a field. Vernlund was ejected and received fatal injuries in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
