Flandreau and Colman-Egan each opened the boys basketball season with blow out victories on Friday night. The Fliers beat Chester 57-22 and Colman-Egan topped Arlington 78-48.
Flandreau 57, Chester 22
FLANDREAU The Fliers took off with a fast start, leading 11-5 at the end of the first quarter and 25-11 at halftime. Flandreau led 39-17 at the end of the third quarter before winning the fourth quarter by a score of 18-5.
Luke Sheppard had a double-double for the Fliers with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Paul Parsley had a strong all-around game with 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Micah Otto had 10 points and Kody Kneebone had eight points.
Layke Wold and JD Prorok each had six points to lead Chester.
After winning their opener, Flandreau will travel to Hamlin on Tuesday night.
Colman-Egan 78, Arlington 48
COLMAN Jackson Zwart and Jase Mousel led the Hawks as they each had 18 points. Jack Mousel had 16 points and six rebounds. Julian Allen had nine points and Caden Zwart had six points.
Colman-Egan plays at Dell Rapids St. Mary on Dec. 13 at 7:15 p.m.
