BROOKINGS The Brookings Figure Skating Club is proud to announce the launch of the Brookings Skating Academy, an all-new initiative designed to bring the joy of skating to a wide sector of Brookings community.
The program is a partnership with the Brookings Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, and classes will be at Larson Ice Center.
In January, the academy will offer a wide range of four-week group classes tailored to skaters of all ages and skill levels, in both figure skating and hockey, including exciting options for youth, teens, adults and skaters with unique needs. Classes will be taught by certified professional coaches using the Ice Sports Industry curriculum, a trusted approach to skating education nationally for over 50 years.
Skating can be a lifelong activity for everyone, and our goal with Brookings Skating Academy is to make the ice accessible, inclusive, and fun for all, said Chris Buus, president of the Brookings Figure Skating Club. Were thrilled to launch this academy with Director Beth Wainman at the helm, and we look forward to providing opportunities for our community to experience the excitement and benefits of skating.
