BROOKINGS The Art Museum Guild will host a program at the South Dakota Art Museum on Nov. 26, featuring Andrew Kosten, Brookings printer and artist using allegorical imagery to engage in social, cultural and personal conversations. Coffee and social time begins at 9:30 a.m., with the program at 10. The public is invited to attend.
Brookings Artist, Andrew Kosten will present Ritual, or a Habit: Printmaking at Gum Pal Press. Kosten will share the printmaking processes he has perfected using multiple-plate color etching and aluminum plate lithography. The establishment and maintenance of his household printmaking press and studio will also be discussed during the presentation.
Guild membership is not required to attend the free monthly programs. However, $20 annual dues support these programs and the Guild art acquisition fund. Membership is open to all. Programs begin in September and run through May.
The South Dakota Art Museum is located at 1036 Medary Ave. in Brookings. There is designated free parking on Harvey Dunn Street, just west of the museum.
