BROOKINGS The South Dakota State volleyball team celebrated senior night with a four-set victory over Oral Roberts on Thursday night at First Bank & Trust Arena.
The Jackrabbits won the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-19. ORU then pulled out a 26-24 victory in set three before the SDSU closed things out with a 25-9 win in set four.
SDSU had 65 kills as a team compared to ORUs 40. Sylvie Zgonc led the way with 20 kills and 10 digs. Alyssa Groves had 13 kills, Madison Burr had 10 and Sydni Schetnan had nine.
Camryn Honn had 29 assists and nine digs. Rylee Martin had 19 assists and 12 digs. Rachel Wieber had 14 digs and Joslyn Richardson had 10 digs and six assists. Sophie Johnson had three service aces.
Groves, Honn, Johnson, Wieber and Annalee Ventling-Brown were honored before the match for senior night.
SDSU improved to 24-1 overall and 13-1 in conference play. A win on Saturday at North Dakota would clinch at least a share of the Summit League regular season title for the Jacks. If SDSU wins that game and beats South Dakota in Vermillion on Tuesday or Omaha loses one of its final two matches, the Jacks will win the conference outright and be the No. 1 seed in the Summit League Tournament.
