BROOKINGS St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Community Blood Bank will come together to host a community blood drive on Nov. 19 from 7 to 10:30 a.m. and noon to 2:30 p.m.
Donors are asked to consider donating blood for community patients, which will help throughout the holiday season. All those donating blood will receive a $10 Hy-Vee gift card as a thank you. Donors can schedule a donation by logging onto cbblifeblood.org, select events, and Nov. 19, St. Thomas More or call Community Blood Bank at 605-331-3222.
Community Blood Banks is a nonprofit, cooperative of Sanford and Avera Health. Community Blood Bank is not associated with any other blood bank organization and is the sole blood provider to 38 local area hospitals, including Brookings Health System. A person can donate blood every 56 days. When you donate blood with Community Blood Bank your blood stays local for our community patients in need.
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good general health the day of the donation. Please bring an I.D. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating.
