James Jim Cochrane passed away on October 19, 2024 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was 81 years old.
While living in Brookings, Jim was a member of United Church of Christ and Brookings PFLAG. Jim was an advocate for the LGBTQ community and for progressive issues.
The family will have a celebration of life next summer at Lake Cochrane SD, which is named after Jims ancestors.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Brookings United Church of Christ.
