The Brookings Music Teachers Association recently held its biennial Ensemble Extravaganza in Founders Recital Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.
Thirty-seven students and three adults performed in two separate concerts, one at 9:30 a.m. and the other at 10:30 a.m., on Oct. 19. A variety of four-hand and two-piano pieces were enjoyed, including “Star Wars,” “Youll Be in My Heart,” “Rockin Good Times,” and “Handels Largo,” as well as some fun parent-child renditions of “Oh, Susanna!,” “Hot Popcorn,” and “Tommy Hawk.”
Students participating in the event include Reagan Brintnall, Taponidhi Cherukuri, Elsa Clements-Johnson, Sylvia Clements-Johnson, Bronson Coetzee, Delaney Coetzee, Liam Diercks, Angela Deutz, Madalyn Even, Morgan Even, Eli Fink, Brynn Froiland, Nolan Gross, Jackson Hahn, Sydney Hahn, Gabriel Hankel, Otto Haselhorst, Colette Johnson, Makena Johnson, Adrian Lansang, Aedan Lansang, Alex Liu, Louis Liu, Frida Markel, Xochi Markel, Gabby Mejia Valencia, Autumn Merchant, Taiya Merchant, Norah Miller, Alaina Overby, Sasha Prager, Clara Riley, Emilea Riley, Wylie Scofield, Elise Ulvestad, Grayson Wagner, and Carlina Wang. Parents who participated were Brandi Brintnall, Trevor Clements and Tyler Miller.
Area teachers who had students playing are Diana Christiansen, Bethany Foote, Cynthia Jorgensen, Deb Kalsbeck, Tammy Knudtson, Laura Rice and Xuan Kuang.
