BROOKINGS A 30-year-old Brookings man is facing a felony charge for his alleged role in 11 acts of vandalism in the city that led to thousands of dollars in damage.
Isaac Gomez-Alicea has been charged with intentional damage to property, according to a Thursday afternoon news release from the Brookings Police Department. The reports of vandalism, which came in between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday, involved the use of black spray paint on vehicles, buildings and homes with initials and symbols.
BPD Detective Sgt. Rhett Larsen wrote in the release that Gomez-Alicea was arrested. As of Thursday at 3:45 p.m., he remained in the Brookings County Detention Center.
