BROOKINGS The South Dakota State wrestling team will start its 2024-25 season ranked No. 12 in the Coaches Poll, the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced Wednesday.
This ties SDSUs highest preseason ranking in program history with the 2023-24 season when the Jacks were also ranked 12th.
The Jackrabbit wrestling program will take on four teams ranked in the preseason top 25 this year with No. 14 Northern Iowa (Nov. 24), No. 13 Minnesota (Dec. 1), No. 25 Pittsburgh (Dec. 20) and No. 6 Iowa State (Feb. 14).
They will host Minnesota and Iowa State at home.
SDSU is one of eight teams from the Big 12 ranked inside the top 25, tied for the most of any conference.
The Jacks will open their season on Nov. 9 at the Bison Open in Fargo, N.D., followed by their first dual in First Bank & Trust Arena on Nov. 15 against Augustana.
