SPEARFISH A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon a single-vehicle crash 6 miles south of Spearfish
The name of the man involved, a 46-year-old Belle Fourche resident, has not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the man, who was driving a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle and not wearing a helmet, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 14A near mile marker 17 when he left the roadway and went over the embankment into the creek. He became separated from his motorcycle, sustaining fatal injuries from the crash.
TheSouth Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.All information released so far is only preliminary.
