RAPID CITY Flandreaus Faith Wiese won the girls’ individual Class A championship as the Fliers and Sioux Valley Cossacks wrapped up their season at the SDHSAA Class A State Cross Country Championships at the Hart Ranch Camping Resort on Saturday morning.
Girls
Sioux Falls Christian won the team championship with a total of 15 points. Lennox was the runner-up with 82 points while West Central (87 points), Flandreau (100 points) and Clark/Willow Lake finished fifth with 110 points.
Sioux Valley finished eighth with 129 points.
Flandreau
Wiese won the Class A individual title with a time of 18:27.59, which beat runner-up Ellie Maddox of Sioux Falls Christian, who finished with a time of 18:40.31.
Sioux Falls Christian teammates Sadie Pettingill (18:47.01) and Jerica Glasser (18:48.80) followed Maddox while Dakota Valleys Sophia Redler finished fifth with a time of 18:49.11.
Calla Wiese was the next finisher for the Fliers, placing 26th with a time of 20:23.16. Josie Hamilton finished 42nd with a time of 21:12.00 and Kiley Westberry placed 57th with a time of 21:37.62.
Sioux Valley
Maci Licht was the top finisher for the Cossacks, placing 16th with a time of 20:01.96. Amia Ward was next up for Sioux Valley, placing 39th with a time of 21:05.38. Liberty Trygstad finished 46th with a time of 21:22.12, Amya Ward finished 61st with a time of 21:44.25, Ava Gatzke finished 65th with a time of 21:51.26 and Quynn Nielson finished 108th with a time of 24:12.57.
Boys
Sioux Falls Christian won the Class A team title with 33 points. Custer was the runner-up with 65 points. Dakota Valley finished third with 70 points, West Central finished fourth with 80 points and Hill City finished fifth with 93 points.
Sioux Valley finished 12th with 188 points. Flandreau did not have enough runners to qualify for a team score.

Carson Wosje was the top finisher for the Cossacks, placing 33rd with a time of 18:10.42. Bret Milton finished 67th with a time of 19:24.30 and Tyrus Schulz finished 69th with a time of 19:25.42.
Dubhlainn Vermeulen finished 90th with a time of 20:11.78 and Levi Axtell finished 102nd with a time of 20:48.74. Carter Sapp finished 112th with a time of 21:08.85.
Flandreau
Logan Kontz finished 43rd with a time of 18:27.98. Brenton Westberry finished 52nd with a time of 18:42.83.
