On Nov. 5, I plan to vote for Roger DeGroot and send him to represent District 7 in the South Dakota Legislature.
I urge you to join me in providing a candidate committed to serving the interests of our district. Roger has a commendable record as a public servant. A successful teaching experience led him to a position as an administrator and educational leader in the school districts he served.
After a deserved retirement he was not finished. He continued to serve by winning election to the Brookings school board. He realized his experience could benefit beyond school district boundaries and threw his hat in the political ring and won election to the state legislature from District 7.
While in the Legislature, Roger has served on the important Education and Taxation committees. Roger demonstrated leadership using his experience in educational issues and as an administrator left his school district in a sound financial position.
As a legislator his financial expertise assures us a fiscal responsibility at the state level. 1 have never regretted casting my support for Roger. He has proven to be a champion for the people of District 7 and the challenges facing us today. Roger is an open door and available whether after a Saturday morning legislative gathering or a talk and coffee after church, he is willing to listen.
