The Brookings Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of the George Dokken Post No. 2118 held its Third Sunday Breakfast for nonprofits on Aug. 18.
The nonprofit for August was the Brookings School District Foundation. The foundation provides help to teachers and organizations that support students at all phases of their education. Future programs include expanding opportunities for those students using special education programs.
The breakfast was served by the foundation members. Their presence at the breakfast gave them the opportunity to inform the community of their programs as well as serving them a hot meal.
The check presented to the BSDF was for $775. Presenting the check to the Brookings School District Foundation Director Kyleigh Cramer is VFW Auxiliary President Wanda Mix.
