Saturday collision kills woman near Beresford

BERESFORD A Laurel, Nebraska, woman died Saturday in a two-vehicle collision 12 miles west of Beresford.

Preliminary crash information indicates the woman was driving a 2018 Ford Explorer traveling southbound on state Highway 19A and had stopped to turn left onto state Highway 46.

At the same time, the driver of a 2018 Ford F-150, a 19-year-old Woonsocket woman, was northbound on Highway 19 and failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicles collided, sending them both into the northeast ditch.

The driver of Explorer died at the scene. The driver of the F-150 sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

TheSouth Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.All information released so far is only preliminary.
