On Oct. 5, the 727/DAV Annual Charity Poker Run Committee, along with Rolling Thunder Inc. South Dakota Chapter 2, presented a check for $57,000 to the Disabled American Veterans Hospital Transportation Network.
This makes a total of approximately $506,000 over the last 20 years. This donation was made possible by the generous support of the 727 committee, Rolling Thunder Inc. South Dakota Chapter 2, Militiamen MC, DAV, sponsors, donors and participants of the poker run that took place Aug. 31.
This year, the event had 729 people registered, 897 poker hand donations and approximately 445 bikes and 16 to 20 cars in the escorted parade. The 21st annual poker run will be Aug.30, 2025.
