Deubrook Area and Arlington picked up victories in volleyball on Tuesday night. Each team swept their opponent as Deubrook beat Milbank and Arlington topped Deuel. Iroquois/Lake Preston was swept by De Smet in other area action.
Deubrook Area 3, Milbank 0
WHITE The Dolphins improved to 13-9 with the sweep. They won the first set 25-21 and then took the second set 25-17. Deubrook completed the sweep with a 25-19 victory in set three.
Matte Buaman led the Dolphins with 30 assists, 12 digs and six kills. Kylee Johnson had 12 kills and Zoey Molengraaf had six kills and three blocks. Matti Ramlo had 13 digs and Mataya Gaouws had six kills.
The Dolphins host Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Arlington 3, Deuel 0
CLEAR LAKE Arlington made quick work of Deuel in the battle of the Cardinals on Tuesday night as they won by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-13.
Jaelyn Huntimer led Arlington with eight kills and 16 digs. Halley Miller had six kills and two blocks. Sony Johnson had 23 assists and Madi Bacon had 10 digs. Hailey Rowen and Lizzy Rowen each had two aces.
Deuel was led by Gracyn Gohring who had 12 digs and eight assists. Ella Kerkvilet and Addison Timmons each had eight digs.Tony Engebretson had five kills.
Arlington improved to 9-14 and plays at Sioux Valley on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
De Smet 3, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0
IROQUOIS The Sharks were swept in straight sets, losing 25-13, 25-20 and 25-13.
ILP was led by Hadlee Holt who had nine kills. Chenoa Harris had 12 digs and Brityn Davies had 11 assists.
De Semt was led by Hazel Luethmers who had 15 kills and two blocks. Brooke Jennings had nine digs and Megan Dylla had 24 assists.
ILP dropped to 4-15 and plays at Sunshine Bible Academy on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
