Kenneth L. Yocom died on Oct. 8, 2024.
He was a professor emeritus at SDSU, where he began his teaching career in 1962. He chaired the Department of Mathematics for 18 years prior to retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, David Yocom and Douglas Yocom (wife Lynn); daughter, Ellen Oelke (husband Nathan); grandchildren, Matthew Yocom (wife Jackie), Joshua Larrinaga-Yocom, honorary grandson Roberto Larrinaga-Yocom, Ethan Oelke (wife Michaela), Laura Oelke Foster (husband Jordan) and Luke Oelke, as well as several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Al Yocom, Vern Yocom, Bob Yocom, Marlene Reeve, Janice Helstad, DeAnna Lund, Elaine Hanson, and JoAnne Yocom-Jones.
