CLEAR LAKE Sioux Valleys Carson Wosje and Flandreaus Faith Wiese won at the Lake Central Conference Cross Country Meet at Clear Lake Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
Boys
Wosje won the race with a time of 17:05.48. The Cossacks came in second as a team with 16 points. Bret Milton came in eighth (18:41.64), Levi Axtell came in ninth (18:59.67) and Tyrus Schulz finished in 10th (19:04.82). Carter Sapp and Dubhlainn Vermeulen finished in 18th (19:44.43) and 19th (19:54.43), respectively.
Flandreau came in third as a team on the boys side with 23 points. Brenton Westberry came in sixth (18:10.35) and Logan Kontz came in seventh (18:11.23). Daniel Hobbie finished in 13th (19:18.60) and Sam Schmidt came in 15th (19:31.45). Nathaniel Hobbie rounded things out for the Fliers, coming in 24th (21:52.50).
Deuel won the team portion with nine points. De Smet finished in fourth (54) and Clark/Willow Lake came in fifth (62).
Deuels Caden Hourigan, Sutton Benck and Tyson Hagberg came in second (17:47.11), third (17:49.62) and fourth (17:49.85), respectively. Casltewoods Nolan Edison finished in fifth (17:50.78).
Girls
\Wiese won the race with a time of 18:19.24. The Fliers came in third as a team with 23 points. Calla Wiese came in ninth (21:13.37) and Josie Hamilton came in 13th (21:43.93). Morgan Sheppard finished in 15th (22:04.85), Tenley LeBrun came in 16th (22:15.56) and Kiley Westberry came in 17th (22:21.85).
Sioux Valley finished in fourth as a team with 25 points. Maci Licht led the Cossacks, coming in second place (19:28.71). Ava Gatzke and Amia Ward came in 11th (21:19.59) and 12th (21:21.20), respectively. Amya Ward and Quynn Nelson came in 19th (23:05.11) and 20th (23:06.09), respectively.
Clark/Willow Lake came in first place as a team with 16 points, outlasting Deuel who came in second with 17. De Smet rounded out the top five (65).
Deuels Jaycee Hourigan came in third (19:40.15) and Clark/Willow Lakes Kamryn Nesheim came in fourth (20:15.25). Jennifer Bevers finished in fifth (20:04.02).
