Elks, Redhawks, Colman-Egan pick up wins in football

Elkton-Lake Benton, Estelline/Hendricks and Colman-Egan picked up victories on the gridiron on Friday night. The Elks shutout Garretson, the redhawks beat Deubrook Area and the Hawks topped Oldham-Ramona-Rutland.

Eltkon-Lake Benton 42, Garretson 0

GARRETSON The Elks remained unbeaten as they shutout the Blue Dragons on Friday night.

ELB scored 14 points in the first, second and third quarter.

The Elks racked up 337 yards on the ground. Eliot Erickson led the way with 100 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Tanner Stein had three carries that went for 93 yards and a touchdown. Colt Beck had one carry and it was a 72-yard touchdown. Kaleb Larson had 31 yards and a touchdown on three carries.

Beck was 5-of-8 for 125 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Tanner Drietz had two catches for 73 yards and each catch was a touchdown. Savion Stephens had two catches for 32 yards and Eliot Erickson had one catch that went for 20 yards.

The ELB defense was led by Quintin Westley and Teigan Krog who each had nine tackles.Krog also had a forced fumble and Berkley Hemmen recovered it. Westley also had three sacks. Erickson and Beck each had eight tackles. Taiton Beoersma had 1.5 sacks.

ELB is now 6-0 and plays at Deubrook Area on Friday at 7 p.m.

Estelline/Hendricks 20, Deubrook Area 12

ESTELLINE The Redhawks extended their win streak to four games as they took down the Dolphins.

A 19-yard touchdown pass from Carson Reitz to Braxton Jongeling got the scoring going in the second quarter. The two-point conversion failed and the Redhawks led 6-0.

Regan Schwartz then ran 98 yards to the end zone in the third quarter and Wyat James ran in the two=point conversion. Reitz connected with Schwartz for a 65-yard touchdown later in the quarter.

Schwartz had 146 yards on 15 carries and had three catches for 66 yards. Reitz was 13-of-18 with 160 yards and had 24 yards on the ground. Joengeling had three catches for 51 yards and James had five receptions that went for 33 yards.

James led the Redhawk defense with nine tackles. Cooper Schaefer had seven tackles and an interception. Matthew McAninch had six tackles and an interception. Retiz had six tackles and Jongeling had five tackles.

Estelline/Hendricks is now 4-2 and plays at Castlewood on Friday at 7 p.m. Deubrook dropped to 1-5.

Colman-Egan 54, Oldham-Ramona-Rutland 8

RUTLAND The Hawks offense was rolling on Friday night as they scored seven touchdowns.

Jack Mousel got the scoring going in the first quarter with a three-yard touchdown run. Hayden Pearson ran in the two-point conversion to make it 8-0. Pearson then scored on a 36-yard touchdown and ran in the two-point conversion to make it 16-0 in the second quarter.

ORRs Brock Eppe ran in a 13-yard touchdown and ran in a two-point conversion to make it 15-8. Jack Mousel scored on a 14-yard run and Pearson kicked the extra point to make it 24-0. Jase Mousel then ran it in from 20 yards out and Pearson scored the two-point conversion to make it 32-8 heading into halftime.

Pearson scored two more touchdowns in the third quarter. The first one was from 39 yards out and the second one was a 10-yard run. Jase Mousel then scored on a 52-yards run and Jackson Zwart caught the two-point conversion to make the final 54-8.

Pearson ran for 178 yards on 14 carries. Jase Mousel had six carries that went for 106 yards.

Jack Mousel was 4-of-8 for 62 yards. Jase Mousel had three catches for 35 yards and Zwart had one catch that went for 27 yards.

Cooper Merager led the Raiders with 74 yards on seven carries. Eppe had 52 yards on 15 carries. Boyd Pooler was 3-of-8 for 43 yards.

Jase Mousel led the Hawks with eight tackles and a sack. Pearson had seven tackles and Zwart had three tackles and an interception.

The Raiders defense was led by Brayden Hanson who had six tackles. Rylen Olson had five tackles and Riley Trygstad had three tackles and a fumble recovery.

Colman-Egan improved to 2-4 and hosts Arlington on Friday at 7 p.m. The Raiders dropped to 4-3 and play Iroquois/Lake Preston in Rutland on Friday at 7 p.m.
