Colman-Egan and Elkton-Lake Benton pick up volleyball wins on Thursday

Colman-Egan and Elkton-Lake Benton were victorious in volleyball on Thursday night. The Hawks beat Castlewood in five sets and the Lady Elks swept Arlington.

Colman-Egan 3, Castlewood 2

COLMAN The Hawks came back from a 2-1 deficit to get the win on Thursday. Castlewood won set one 25-21 and Colman-Egan answered with a 25-20 win in set two. The Warriors then won set three 25-22 but the Hawks were able to pull out a 27-25 victory in set four to force a winner take all set. In the final set C-E took control, winning 15-6.

Brynlee Landis had a massive night for the Hawks with 28 kills and 28 digs. Kaylee Luze had 31 assists and seven kills. Finley Luze had 21 assists and 10 kills. Presley Luze had 14 digs.

Colman-Egan is now 13-3 overall and plays at Chester on Monday at 7 p.m.

Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Arlington 0

ELKTON The Lady Elks took care of business on Thursday night, winning in straight sets. ELB won the first two sets by the score of 26-16 and then the third set was 25-17.

Andrea Renkly had 17 kills and 23 digs to lead ELB. Charlie Thooft had nine kills and 17 digs. Malyha Slegers had 34 assists and Quinn Slegers had 23 digs. Sydney DeVries had six kills

Jaelyn Huntimer led the Cardinals with 15 kills and 25 digs. Madi Bacon had 20 digs and Sony Johnson had 26 assists.

ELB is now 7-9 and hosts Garretson in Elkton at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Arlington dropped to 8-14 and plays at Deuel on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
