Ray H. Page, 80, of Brookings, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids, SD.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at GracePoint Wesleyan Church in Brookings, SD. A Visitation will be held the day prior from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Rudes Funeral Home in Brookings. Raymond Henry Page was born on July 18, 1944, in Mitchell, SD, the son to Maynard and Thelma (Carpenter) Page. He grew up on the farm in rural Fedora, SD, where he enjoyed working in the fields and riding horses. Ray attended country school through the sixth grade and then Fedora Public High School, graduating in 1962. While at Fedora High School, he met his sweetheart, Linda Drown. The couple married on June 27, 1964. They were blessed to celebrate 60 years of marriage. To this union, four children were born; Michael, Kyle, Brenda and Stacy.
Ray farmed for five years before working at various grain elevators. He finished his career as a welder at Twin City Fan. Ray loved John Deere tractors, especially working on them. He enjoyed giving the grandchildren and great-grandchildren rides. Ray also loved Buffalo Ridge two-cylinder Club, reading and raising hogs.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Page; children, Michael R. (Kim) Page of Brookings, SD, Kyle D. (Katie) Page of Canton, SD and Brenda L. (Todd) Dirckx of Brandon, SD; 10 grandchildren, Justin (Natalie) Page, Zachary (Abby) Page, Jon (Kayla) Geffre, Jen (Sid) Geffre, Caleb (Katelyn) Dirckx, Jack Page, Sam Page, Charlie Page, Nathaniel Reynolds and Alexis Martheller; seveb great-grandchildren, siblings, Donald (Karen) Page, Audrey Pierson, Mary (Larry) Shoemaker, Carol (Cliff) Weidel, Dale (Diane) Page, Randy (Donna) Page, Terri Sue (Kirk) Severson, Cathy (Gary) Cuka, Danny (Gibi) Page and Anita (Layne) Nicholson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Thelma Page, parents-in-law James and Besse Drown, son Stacy Page, grandchildren Hannah and Jacob Dirckx and Lily Reynolds, siblings Darrell Page, Pauline Hohn, Rick Page and Tom Page, and brothers-in-law Bob Drown and Dallas Kothe.
