Redhawks beat Colman-Egan in area football action

The Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks scored the lone victory in the area football slate on Friday night.

Estelline/Hendricks 30, Colman-Egan 28

COLMAN The Redhawks defeated Colman-Egan thanks to three touchdowns by Regan Schwartz.
Schwartz scored his first touchdown on a 78-yard touchdown return in the first quarter and scored again on a 48-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

The Redhawks scored again on Carson Reitzs eight-yard pass to Matthew McAninch gave E-H its third touchdown in the second quarter and Schwartz scored again on a 57-yard touchdown run later in the second quarter.

Reitz completed 5-for-10 passes with 49 yards and a touchdown. Schwartz also added 136 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. McAninch added 18 yards on six carries and Cooper Schaefer had 23 yards on three carries.

McAninch had three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. Schwartz had a 14-yard reception and Wyat James had a four-yard catch.

Braxton Jongeling had 13 tackles including three sacks. McAninch had 13 tackles with an interception. Schwartz had seven tackles. James had six tackles and an interception. Cooper Faehnrich had six tackles. Braxton Pravecek had four tackles and a sack. Schaefer had four tackles.

Dell Rapids St. Marys 50, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0

IROQUOIS Ben Curd led ILP with 18 yards on 11 carries. Brycen Blue and Curd led the Sharks with four tackles each.

Lincoln LeBrun led the Cardinals with six carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals. Trimmier Hanson had five carries for 56 yards. Jake Kopsas had two carries for 83 yards and a touchdown while Jacob Flemmer had two carries for 19 yards and a touchdown.

Hanson also completed 3-of-4 passes with 58 yards and a touchdown. Thomas LaVoy had a 28 yard reception. Jaxon Baumberfer had a 16-yard touchdown reception. Keaton Hansen had a catch for 14 yards.

Hanson also had a 72 yard punt return for a touchdown.

Maverick LeBrun led St. Marys with six tackles. Kade Lutt also had a pair of sacks.

Castlewood 52, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

CASTLEWOOD Dylan Sievers had six tackles while Brennon Bkett and Boyd Pooler had two tackles each.

Our boys need to hold their heads up and learn from our mistakes, Logan DeRungs said. We need to tackle, block and coach next week against a solid Colman-Egan team. We still have a good thing going here and need to use this as a bump in the road and get the train back on track.
