LINCOLN, Neb. The South Dakota State mens golf team is tied for sixth place after the first 36 holes of Nebraskas Git-R-Done Invitational Monday.
The Jackrabbits are +8 as a team. They went 9-over on the first lap, then posted a 1-under team tally for round two.
Ty Kretz had the best day for the Jacks with two rounds under par. He fired a 69 (-2) for the first 18 holes and a 70 (-1) for the second 18. His day was highlighted by an eagle on hole 11 in both rounds.
Bryson Mercier is in 15th place with an even-par scorecard. He was +3 for the first round and -3 for the second round. Blake Schaper is in 44th place (+6), Tyler Seeling is in 52nd (+9) and Drew Teeter is in 56th place (+10).
Sam Houston State holds a commanding lead over the field with a 17-under scorecard. South Alabama is in second place at -7.
Sam Houstons Bret Gray and Hugo Trommetter are both 9-under in a tie for first place.
