Brookings finishes 13th at Mitchell Invitational

MITCHELL The Brookings Bobcats finished in 13th place as they took part in the Mitchell Invitational at the Lakeview Golf Course on Friday afternoon.

Mason Diers had the top score for the Bobcats, finishing tied for 37th place with a score of 80. Tyson Lunn finished tied for 51st with a score of 82 and Liam Heiberger finished tied for 59th place with a score of 83.

Issak Earley rounded out the team scoring, tying for 74th place with a score of 85.

Other competitors for the Bobcats included Jase Bauer, who tied for 79th place with a score of 86 and Rhys Heiberger, who tied for 85th place with a score of 87.

Pierre posted a team score of 286 and finished one shot ahead of Brandon Valley to win the invitational. Mitchell finished third with a score of 297, Harrisburg finished fourth with a score of 304 and Sioux Falls Lincoln and Yankton tied for fifth place with a score of 310.

Pierres Nick Buthon and Charlie Swift shot a 68 at the tournament and Bothun won on the second playoff hole to take home the championship.

Mitchells Asher Dannenbring and Brandon Valleys Carter Peterson finished tied for third with a score of 69 and Pierres Sawyer Sonnenschein finished fifth shooting an even-par 71.

The Bobcats will return to action on Tuesday when they travel for a tournament at the Watertown Municipal Golf Course beginning at 10 a.m.
