DELL RAPIDS The Sioux Valley boys golf team finished in eighth place at the Dell Rapids Invite on Monday afternoon.
The Cossacks shot 325 as a team. Vermillion took home the team title with a score of 293. Dakota Valley shot 293 as well but finished in second. Aberdeen Roncalli came in third (302) and West Central finished in fourth (305). Sioux Falls Christian rounded out the top five (320).
Tate Steffensen led the Cossacks and he came in third place after shooting one-under par. Damon Uecker came in 30th (+10) and Maverick Nelson finished in 50th (+15). Jameson Degen came in 56th (+17) and Nathan Larson came in 66th (+21). Trentyn Smith was the final competitor for the Cossacks and he finished in 76th (+25).
Dakota Valleys Logan Collette won the individual portion of the tournament and he shot a two-under par. Aberdeen Roncallis Finn Anderson came in second (-1) and Dakota Valleys Matt DeBeer came in fourth (-1). Vermillions Cooper Girard finished in fifth (even par).
Sioux Valley will be back in action on Sept. 3 when the Cossacks will be playing in the Sioux Falls Christian Tournament at Spring Creek Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
