Sophie Tanner wins pair of matches during Bobcats triangular in Brandon

BRANDON The Brookings Bobcats dropped a pair of duals falling to Rapid City Stevens 9-0 and Brandon Valley 7-2 during a triangular on Saturday morning.

The Bobcats fell to 0-4 in duals this season and will host Aberdeen Central, Yankton, Watertown and Aberdeen Roncalli as part of their annual Jamboree quadrangular at the Hillcrest Tennis Courts beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

Rapid City Stevens 9, Brookings 0

The Raiders swept all six singles matches as Sophie Tanner lost to Bella Scott 10-2 and Brielle Smetana lost to Bella Nelson 10-2.

In other singles action, Anika Hooda lost to Sylvie Mortimer 10-0; Catie Michna lost to Ellena Braun 10-0; Lada Senchanka lost to Madison Marsh 10-0; and Maya Gent lost to Brooke Cadwallader 10-0.

The team of Tanner and Hooda lost to Mortimer and Potvin 10-2 in doubles action. Michna and Senchanka lost to Scott and Braun 10-0. Smetana and Gent lost to Nelson and Marsh 10-0 in the final doubles match.

Brandon Valley 7, Brookings 2

Tanner had the lone singles win for Brookings, defeating Olivia Ericsson 10-5. Tanner was also part of the Bobcats win in doubles action, teaming with Hooda to beat Makenna Beck and Claudia Scholten 10-3.

Hooda lost to Sophia Mendes 10-8 while Scnchanka lost to Reagan Morrell 10-3. Gent lost to Beck 10-3 while Smetana lost to Harper Beatch 10-1 and Michna lost to Scholten 10-0.

Michna and Senchanka lost to Menden and Morrell 10-1 and Smetana and Gent lost to Beatch and Ericsson 10-0.
