BROOKINGS The Brookings Bobcats received votes as the 2024 South Dakota High School Soccer Class AA Preseason Coaches Poll was released on Thursday.
The Bobcats, who finished last season with a record of 5-7-2, were among seven teams who received votes outside of the top five of the poll, joining Aberdeen Central, Brandon Valley, Sioux Falls Christian, Sioux Falls Washington, Spearfish and Watertown.
Sioux Falls Lincoln was first in the initial rankings followed by OGorman, Sioux Falls Jefferson, Rapid City Stevens and Yankton.
The Bobcats will open the 2024 season with a busy weekend, traveling to Spearfish on on Friday and Pierre on Saturday. Brookings will open its home schedule on Aug. 20 when it hosts Tea Area as part of a doubleheader with the girls team at the Fishback Soccer Complex.
