As members of the Brookings Summer Arts Festival committee, weve watched our town come alive, year after year, with the buzz of our beloved festival. This isn’t just an event; its tradition, and it’s a testament to what we stand for as a community: unity, creativity, and a deep-rooted love for our city.
For a weekend every summer in July, Brookings transforms, becoming a place where kids get their first taste of art, strangers chat like old friends, and where artists, volunteers, and visitors contribute to a mosaic of creative mediums, vibrant with color, flavor, performance, heritage, and buzzing with life.
Its magical, really, how art can pull us together.
Behind this magic is hard work fueled by passion. The BSAF is put together by volunteers from all walks of life who embody the spirit of Brookings: generous, dedicated, and endlessly creative. They give their time not for reward but because they believe in this festival and its power to bring happiness, spark curiosity, and dream weave our community even closer.
And, it impacts local businesses. The festival draws visitors from near and far, filling streets, shops, and restaurants with energy and economic activity.
