SIOUX FALLS South Dakota State pitcher Reece Arbogast has been honored as a member of the 2024 Summit League Baseball All-Academic Team.
A junior from Sioux Falls, Arbogast has compiled a 3.94 grade-point average while majoring in mathematics and data science. On the field, he appeared in 13 games with four starts during the recently completed 2024 season.
All 10 selections to the team from the Summit Leagues six institutions that sponsor baseball were first-time selections. To be eligible for the honor squad, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his teams competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their teams total contests.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the leagues participating members, and voting is conducted by both SIDs and faculty athletics representatives.
