Earning contest recognition
Colman-Egan had 52 entries in the 5-8 Middle School Solo and Ensemble Contest held at the Flandreau Public School on April 20.
Students were awarded 40 superior scores, 10 excellent scores and two good scores. Of those, four students received Superior plus scores. Those include eighth grader Kadin Thompson on trumpet, eighth grader Josh Ortizano, fifth grader Phillip Thacker on trombone and fifth grader Harper Ruhlman on flute.
Celebrating success
Colman-Egan vocal and instrumental students participated in Large Group Contest held in Harrisburg on April 24, performed in their spring concert on April 25 and sang at the Colman Lutheran Church on April 28.
The band and choir performed two pieces each for groups of three judges. Both ensembles received Superior and Above Average scores for their performances. To celebrate a year of successes the group enjoyed a trip to Pizza Ranch with some fun time in the arcade.
