Primary election day is Tuesday, June 4, and I would like to introduce Madison-area residents to Matt Wagner from Volga as my choice for one of two slots for District 8 House of Representatives.
With redistricting, the new map now includes rural Brookings, Kingsbury, Lake, and part of Miner County. It is nearly 90 miles from the northern area of the district to the southern part, and while we have great representation from the southern area, I think its important that the northern part of District 8 has representation, too.
Matt Wagner is a small-business owner who operates a concrete construction company in Brookings County. Over the past year, I have gotten to know Matt as a person committed to our communities and have been impressed by his passion for education. Having served on both the Volga Christian School Board and the Sioux Valley School Board, Matt seeks to provide the best educational opportunities for our children and is determined to advance policies that help students reach their full potential.
Matt is also committed to fiscal responsibility, keeping taxes low, and pushing back on excessive spending in our state budget. His responsible approach will ensure that South Dakotans can keep more of their hard-earned money.
Matt and his wife, Kerri, have three adult children, Hudson (24) and twins Haze and Hope (21). As a solid conservative, Matt Wagner will work to make South Dakota an even better place to live and raise families. I will vote for Matt Wagner for District 8 House of Representatives on June 4, and urge you to do the same.
