The VFW Auxiliary of George Dokken Post No. 2118 participates in one of the special youth programs that are available for youth of school ages. Patriotism Through Literacy is one of the programs that supports students of all grades.
This program encourages reading for all students. Youth Program Chair Jan Olson selected books that are recommended and appropriate for each of the schools depending on student ages.
The books are presented to the schools librarian and then shelved for use by the students. Each of the six public schools and three parochial schools receive two books each year for their library.
